UK Line Dance Awards will be held in February, and the nomination period will run for the month of January, each year.

UK Line Dance Awards – Voting Rules

Please read the following rules before submitting your votes. By voting, you agree to these terms.

  • 1. One Vote Per Person
  • Each person may vote once per category. Duplicate votes will be removed.
  • 2. Who Can Vote
  • Anyone involved in the line dance community is welcome to vote.
  • 3. Provide Accurate Information
  • Please use real and accurate details. False or unverifiable submissions may be deleted.
  • 4. Voting Deadline
  • Votes must be submitted before the published closing date. Late votes won’t be counted.
  • 5. No Automated or Bulk Voting
  • Bots, scripts, and mass-produced email votes are not allowed.
  • 6. No Financial or Material Incentives
  • Nominees and organisations must not offer money, gifts, discounts, or rewards in exchange for votes.
  • 7. No Prize Draws for Votes
  • Running competitions or giveaways that require people to vote is not permitted.
  • 8. Fair Promotion Only
  • You may encourage others to vote, but you must not pressure or coerce anyone.
  • 9. No Negative Campaigning
  • Harassment, misinformation, or negative campaigning about other nominees is forbidden.
  • 10. Privacy
  • All votes are confidential and only used to calculate results.
  • 11. UK Line Dance Relevance
  • Votes must relate to the UK line dance scene and the categories listed.
  • 12. Minimum Age
  • Voters must meet any age requirements set by the organisers. Voters must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 13. No Transactional Voting
  • Exchanges like “vote for me and I’ll vote for you” are not allowed.
  • 14. Conflict of Interest (Judged Categories)
  • Judges must declare any personal or professional ties to nominees.
  • 15. Misconduct May Lead to Disqualification
  • Anyone attempting to manipulate the results may be disqualified.
  • 16. Vote Verification
  • The organisers may verify votes, remove suspicious activity, or request clarification.
  • 17. Use Correct Categories
  • Please vote in the category that matches the nominee’s work. Incorrect votes may not be counted.
  • 18. No Interference with the System
  • Any attempt to disrupt or tamper with the voting system will result in disqualification.
  • 19. Results Are Final
  • Once announced, results are final unless a proven error is found by the organisers.
  • 20. Rule Changes
  • The organisers may update or amend these rules if required. Any changes will be announced before voting closes.
  • 21. Verification Email Requirement
  • Votes may need to be confirmed via email to ensure authenticity.
  • 22. Instructor / Choreographer Must Be Active
  • Votes may only be counted for instructors or choreographers who are active during the qualifying year.
  • 23. DJ / Event Eligibility
  • Events or DJs must have been active in the UK line dance community during the qualifying period.
  • 24. No Vote-Buying via Advertising Platforms
  • Paid adverts encouraging voting are allowed, but adverts offering compensation or incentives in exchange for votes are not.
  • 25. Organisers Cannot Influence Results
  • Staff involved with managing the awards cannot vote in any category where they have a personal or professional conflict.
  • 26. Social Media Conduct
  • Supporters must behave respectfully online when discussing nominees or encouraging votes. Harassment or bullying may lead to disqualification of a nominee.
  • 27. Nominee Withdrawal Rule
  • A nominee may request to withdraw from a category, but only before voting begins.
  • 28. Category Merging
  • If a category receives too few nominations or votes, the organisers may merge it with a related category.
  • 29. Tie-Break Procedure
  • If two nominees receive the same number of votes, a tie-break method (e.g., small panel decision) may be used.
  • 30. No Direct Contact with Organisers for Special Favour
  • Nominees must not contact organisers privately to request special consideration or influence the process.
  • 31. Data Protection Compliance
  • The awards will follow GDPR, and voter data will not be shared or sold.
  • 32. Nominee Name Consistency
  • Votes for nominees using incorrect or alternate spellings may be combined, provided voter intent is clear.
  • 33. Removal of Invalid Dances
  • If a nominated dance is later found to be plagiarised or improperly credited, it may be removed from voting.
  • 34. Anonymous Judging (For Panel Categories)
  • Judges may review entries anonymously to avoid bias wherever applicable.
  • 35. Clarifying Ambiguous Votes
  • If a vote is unclear (e.g., two dances with similar names), organisers may use reasonable judgment to determine voter intent.
  • 36. Right to Publicly Acknowledge Misconduct
  • If serious misconduct occurs, organisers may issue a public statement explaining any changes to results.
  • 37. Voting and Nominations limited to UK Residents
  • Only UK residents voting from within the UK may vote and nominate
  • 38. Consecutive category winners
  • If an Individual, club, dance or organisation wins the same category 3 times consecutively, they will be ineligible for inclusion as a finalist in that category for a period of 12 months.
